What do I like to do to find inspiration? DANCE, of course! In about 2 hours, I will be taking a cardio-salsa class. My co-worker and I got a free ticket for going to this dance event at Atlantic Station last month so I really hope this class will be good. Here's a nice 'salsa-y' picture to look at in honor of tonight.

:: INTERESTING HYBRID PRODUCTS ::
There are a lot of interesting products out there in the market and sometimes I have no idea how people come up with these things. It's like, "I like to drink coffee and I like guns...let's make a coffee mug with a gun handle!" Sushi and a jump-drive? Really? The thing is, I think I'd actually buy some of these things. They're so unique and loony. Let me try one... how about a fly-swatter and a paint brush!? Hmmm... maybe not.

:: TEXTURES IN PRODUCTS ::
Today I realized - I really like my shoes. They're Melissa + Campana flats I got when I was in Brazil back in March. The cool overlapping textures and colors are just so fun to look at. I was also visiting Urban Outfitter's site when I saw this cool ruffly textured duvet cover. Today is all about textures.

:: OLD SKETCHES ::
I was just cleaning out some folders on my computer when I found these old sketches I had done for fun. Finding things like this actually inspire me to want to draw more. Some of these are from about 10 years ago.. wow... 10 years....

:: STRUCTURED JEWELRY ::
My sister is visiting from Brazil and she just showed me a website of this very cool jewelry designer. Her name is Vanessa Robert and each piece of jewelry reminds me of an architectural piece of art.
:: PARIS & A PIECE OF EUROPE ::
I used to collect stamps as a kid and fell in love with this stamp pattern. Also, Paris themed everything seems to be pretty big this year. I found these designs on Luxe Paperie and felt quite inspired today. Makes me want to take a trip to Europe.

:: SEATTLE SUMMER WEDDING ::
Back in July, I went to my cousin's wedding and loved all the things they did to make the day special. Cute couple, cool colors. I thought the bobble-head cake toppers were absolutely adorable and I loved how they made the white IKEA frames (displaying the table numbers) look classy. The cupcakes were quite tasty, too. |
