:: SURROUNDED ::

Who wouldn't want to be surrounded by gifts?  Here's how Naomi spent her first Christmas.

:: MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR ::

It's been a very long and tiring year, but now we have a new edition to the family.  Naomi is 3 months old and she's such a great kid.  I finally feeling like I'm myself again despite the fact that I don't get much sleep anymore.  I'm sure the new year will bring much joy and excitement, but now I'm just focused on having a very Merry Christmas.

:: FIRST ORNAMENT ::

2011 is the year of the rabbit so Wei made Naomi her very first ornament in the shape of a bunny!  So cute!

:: CRIB FRIENDS ::

Paul has been very serious about the shaping of Naomi's head.  He REALLY wants her to have a symmetrical and round head.  I don't think there's anything really wrong with the shape of her head, but to appease him, we've come up with a method of sandwiching her between two of her stuffed dolls - - her Ugly Dolls.  It seems to be working okay.

:: FAMILY GATHERING ::

Who says you can't travel with a kid?  Crystal and Aiden were here for the most part of November.  Jorge came a little later so we had lots of sister/kid time together.  It was so nice to be able to spend time with family and all be on the same continent for once.  Cousins met for the first time and I got to see how a nine month old behaved.  There's so much to look forward to.

:: PRODUCT IN USE ::

Wow - it works!  During my junior year in college, I had the chance to work on designing a baby toy.  I designed a rattle out of curly maple and walnut.  The rattle is crafted by my own two hands - - from bandsaw to lathe to dremel to sanding... lots and LOTS of sanding.  Many many hours were put into this project.  Aiden was the first kid to really play with it and I can say that he really did enjoy it!  I can't wait for Naomi to get her tiny hands on it too.  So exciting!

:: MONSTERS ::

At around 2 months old, Naomi is able to be propped up by things like pillows, cushions, and monsters.  Paul and I had a doozy of a time taking photos with her and her monster friends one morning and here are some of my favorites.

:: NEW STORK TIMES ::

Here's a little something I made for Naomi's room describing how my labor actually went down and how she came into this world.  Enjoy the read!

:: NAOMI ONE MONTH ::

In following Chinese tradition, we threw Naomi a "party" with family and some close friends when she reached her one month birthday.  We ate lots of yummy food and even had a delicious cake.  Happy one month, Naomi!

:: EMERY SHOWER ::

So much of my life is centered around babies and baby showers.  Angela is 8 weeks behind me and I'm almost 9 months pregnant.  Wow - time sure does fly.  Her friends put together a very cute shower with delicious food and cute games.  Here are my favorite things from her shower.

:: MALAYSIA 2011 ::

Traveling by yourself on an overseas flight while being 5 months pregnant can be quite a challenge.  First, you need to make sure you get an aisle seat because of the many bathroom breaks that are involved.  Secondly, all smells from foods to perfumes to paper bags make you want to puke.  The swelling of the feet doesn't make things any  easier.  My nephew, Aiden, was born back in February so I had to make it a priority to visit him and my sister before my own kid arrived.  The trip was a success!  I learned how to bathe a baby and change some diapers.  I also got to visit some sites but again, the trip was mainly to visit family.
